Scholarships That Empower Futures
At the Richard & Min Vondrak Foundation, Inc., our scholarship program supports family members of United States military veterans, or active-duty United States military personnel by removing financial barriers to education. Guided by fairness, integrity, and opportunity, scholarships are awarded through a comprehensive and thoughtful review process to help students reach their academic goals.
A Holistic Review Process
Scholarship awards are determined through a comprehensive evaluation conducted by the Foundation’s Board of Directors. Scholarship funds are paid directly to the educational institution. Financial assistance is based on the following key factors:
Who Can Apply
Be a spouse, child, grandchild, or legal dependent of a United States military veteran or active-duty service member
Be a permanent resident of the United States
Have completed or are completing high school with a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
(This requirement does not apply to applicants for grades K-12 private schools.)Be accepted as a full-time student at a college, university, trade school, or private school program for the upcoming academic semester
Submit a completed scholarship application postmarked by the stated deadline.
Complete a maximum 250-word essay related to educational goals or field of study
(Not required for applicants for grades K-12 private school)Provide proof of military status or dependency on a U.S. military veteran or active-duty service member
What You’ll Need to Submit
Scholarship applicants must provide the following materials:
A completed scholarship application form
An official high school transcript, submitted in a sealed envelope from the institution
Two letters of recommendation
A maximum 250-word personal essay
A letter of acceptance from a college, university, vocational, technical, or private school
Provide proof of military status or dependency on a U.S. military veteran or active-duty service member
